Qualified Longevity Annuity Contract
A deferred income annuity bought inside an IRA or 401(k). The amount used to buy it is left out of RMD calculations until payments begin, which must be by age 85.
There is a lifetime dollar limit per person, indexed to inflation. Payments are fully taxable as ordinary income. The trade-off is liquidity: the premium cannot be withdrawn, and without a death-benefit rider the value may be lost if you die before payments start.
