Full Retirement Age · Also called: normal retirement age, NRA
The age at which you receive 100% of your PIA. It is 66 for people born 1943-1954, rises two months per birth year from 1955 to 1959, and is 67 for anyone born in 1960 or later.
FRA is the reference point for every claiming adjustment: benefits started earlier are permanently reduced, benefits started later earn delayed retirement credits, and the retirement earnings test stops applying once you reach it.
Survivor benefits use a slightly different full retirement age schedule than retirement benefits.
