Retirement IQ Check

Catch-up contributions

Also called: super catch-up

Extra amounts people 50 or older may contribute to 401(k)-type plans, IRAs and (from 55) HSAs above the regular limits. Ages 60 to 63 have a higher workplace-plan catch-up.

Starting in 2026, employees whose prior-year wages from the employer exceeded an indexed threshold must make workplace catch-up contributions as Roth.

All limits are indexed to inflation. RetIQ enforces them when Contribution Limits is enabled.
